However, most particle physicists believe that it is an incomplete description of nature, and that a more fundamental theory awaits discovery (See Theory of Everything). As the solid is heated up, the bonds break and the solid is no longer a solid. The field is also called high energy physics, because many elementary particles do not occur under ambient conditions on Earth. We believe that we understand very well what goes on inside the sun and yet the number of neutrinos which we observe on earth is considerably fewer than the number predicted by our models of stars.
