The tuba or sousaphone is one of the largest instruments in the band or orchestra and has the lowest pitch of all the instruments. Presumably the Classical part would be played on a symphonic horn and the Jazz part on a peashooter. Nowadays, the stockings are incorporated into the manufacturing process of the inner slide tubes and represent a fractional widening of the tube to accommodate the necessary method of alleviating friction.

Davis currently is Lecturer of Trombone at Northwestern University and Guest Lecturer of Trombone at the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College. The first number stands for Flute, the second for Oboe, the third for Clarinet, the fourth for Bassoon, and the fifth (separated from the woodwinds by a dash) is for Horn. The bell flare has been crunched and repaired and shows scars. It takes a small shank mouthpiece and is a smaller bored horn. Made in Switzerland by Egger to the highest level of craftsmanship. Price is REDUCED $675 and the original case is included. It has had a full overhaul with and relacquering. The brass player must use their lips, tongue, jaw, etc in order to hit the note they are aiming for out of all the notes possible.

I am having a hard time dating the vintage of the horn for a few reasons. Searching for it in pawn shops was too difficult I had to accept it was gone. There are also a number of well known trombone manufacturers that has been around for many decades, such as King, Conn, Bach, Getzen and Yamaha. NSW and NZ largest stock of Yanagisawa and Bach. Great traditional tenor trombone for the more advanced High School player or adult musician.

There is currently no available official documentation on Reynolds’ earliest instruments. In fact, we shall see that several of the resonances (often called 'harmonics' by brass players) of the modern brass instruments are not very different from those of a cone. What can I say, it's a stunning instrument to hold in your hands and play. There’s a Yamaha mouthpiece to suit every player. In these cases, the lips and the pipe were in a sense cooperating to form the vibration that gives rise to the sound. This is a nice instrument for a player looking for an affordable professional instrument with a good sound but not looking to drop a fortune on the elite brands from Egger and Ewald Meinl. It is no accident that it was here, in the hands of Gluck and Mozart, that the earliest developments of the modern idiom took place.
