It should also be noted that for most makers, there will be examples in the catalog where the model is unknown and therefore not represented in this listing. If you plan to polish your brass-plated object, do so very gently. [28] It may be helpful to test the polish on an inconspicuous area of your brass-plated item before you polish the entire piece. This is a full-sized trombone, using the traditional slide positions, but it's much shorter in length.

This particular one is a pristine example from the 1960s. The model 6 had seven variations, each with slightly different specifications and stamped on the bell flare roman number i through vii. It has a 1Y bell flare and a TB47 slide with some minor lacquer wear.

One of the top of the line professional bass trombones produced by the Eastlake Ohio Conn Factory. It has a quick response, balanced sound and warm color. If buying new, one of the better starter trombones to buy is the Yamaha YSL-354. Continue using in larger areas only if you see a rich and even reflection in the metal. Once I arrived at Shires’ factory, I started the audition with a Thayer-style valve and a regular weight slide.

The bass section of the Chicago Symphony is a good example of this orchestral concept.

All done with the lips: there are no valves on a baroque trumpet. (This instrument plays in the baroque tuning of A = 415 Hz, so the pedal note or fundamental is, in modern tuning, Db below the bass clef, so the series is nearly an octave lower than that of the C trumpet discussed above. The kind we all grew up listening to and admiring. Over the years, many members of this ensemble have gone on to successful careers as professional performers, college and university professors and public school teachers across the country.
